Thunderbirds Announce 2022 Officer Selections
Tuesday, the United States Air Force Thunderbirds announced their officer selections for the 2022-2023 show seasons. Three new pilots were selected in addition to a flight surgeon and an operations officer.
The selected 2022 officers include:
Thunderbird 3: Capt. Lauren “Threat” Schlichting, Executive Officer, 4th Fighter Wing, Seymour Johnson AFB, NC
Thunderbird 6: Capt. Daniel “Thunder” Katz, Flight Commander/Instructor Pilot, 510th Fighter Squadron, Aviano AB, Italy
Thunderbird 8: Capt. Jacob “Primo” Impellizzeri, Chief of Standardization and Evaluation, 79th Fighter Squadron, Shaw AFB, SC
Thunderbird 9: Capt. Travis “Angry” Grindstaff, Flight Surgeon, 79th Fighter Squadron, Shaw AFB, SC
Thunderbird 11: Capt. Robert “Bobby” Gulla, Operations Officer, 723 Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Moody AFB, GA
